El festival tambi\u00e9n es reconocido por su capacidad de promover y ofrecer un lugar para cineastas j\u00f3venes y prometedores. Hasta un tercio de las pel\u00edculas seleccionadas est\u00e1n hechas por un director debut y solo los directores que han hecho menos de 3 pel\u00edculas son seleccionados para la competencia. El objetivo del Festival Internacional de Cine de Estocolmo es ampliar la selecci\u00f3n de pel\u00edculas en Suecia con nuevas pel\u00edculas creativas de alta calidad y ofrecer al visitante una orientaci\u00f3n dentro del cine moderno para estimular un debate continuo.
